Kremlin Affirms Putin’s Absence for In-Person Attendance at G20 in India

On Friday, the Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin had no intentions of participating in the upcoming G20 summit scheduled for September in India with a physical presence.

Amidst an ongoing controversy, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has released an arrest warrant for President Putin, alleging his involvement in war crimes within Ukraine. The Kremlin vehemently refutes these accusations. Consequently, the President faces the possibility of being apprehended if he ventures abroad.

In recent days, he virtually attended a convocation of leaders from the BRICS coalition of burgeoning economies in South Africa, opting for a remote connection rather than an in-person appearance.
