A resident of Mizoram was apprehended in the East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya following the discovery of prohibited crystal methamphetamine valued at over ₹ 8.26 crore, as reported by the police on Sunday.
Acting upon a confidential tip, law enforcement officers intercepted a vehicle and, upon inspection, discovered ten packages of crystal methamphetamine concealed inside a suitcase.
Subsequently, the individual was taken into custody, with ongoing inquiries being conducted, according to a senior district police official.
The estimated market worth of the confiscated narcotics is approximately USD 1 million.
