In Rajasthan’s Kotputli-Behror district, a distressing incident unfolded as a Dalit boy in 10th grade was discovered hanging within his classroom at Jawahar Navodaya School.
Authorities reported that the incident took place on Wednesday, while the family’s refusal to accept the boy’s body has added to the complexity of the situation.
The family is currently engaged in a protest, demanding the immediate arrest of two teachers implicated in the matter. They firmly assert that these teachers are responsible for the boy’s demise, alleging a premeditated act that was subsequently staged as a suicide by hanging.
Ranjeeta Sharma, the Superintendent of Police for Kotputali-Behror, indicated that the family has made claims of ongoing harassment suffered by the boy at the hands of the accused teachers. However, due to the family’s ongoing protest, the postmortem examination of the deceased has been delayed.
The authorities have taken cognizance of the severity of the situation and have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the implicated teachers. This FIR encompasses various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 302 which pertains to charges of murder. Presently, no arrests have been executed in connection with the case.
